I’m Kimina

I am a life-long learner, with former careers as a journalist, and corporate executive and youth worker. I have come to psychology in later life, and bring my lived experience to the work, especially my curiosity about the world and people.

I am CIS woman (she/her pronouns), member of the LGBTIQ+ community, and an advocate for social justice of all forms. I honour the planet and all beings on it, am an animal lover and choose to eat a plant-based diet as much as possible.

You are not healing to be able to handle trauma.
You’re used to handling trauma.
You’re healing so you can handle the joy

Other work experience and history

I work part time at the Dart Centre for Journalism and Trauma. We support journalists to learn about trauma, provide safety for trauma interviews, and to build their resilience to trauma exposure. There are some wonderful resources on our website here

I spent 10 years as an Group Executive for a major national health and financial services company, managing a team of communications and marketing professionals. I have a unique perspective on workplace issues, and am available for executive coaching.

I have lived experience of trauma, both as a child and an adult. This is part of why I deeply know it is possible to heal.

Let’s grow together
